Jon's honours include,
Jon won his first cap on Scotland's 2000 tour to NZ and scored his first try for Scotland later that season in the 31-8 win against Samoa in November 2000. During his first season in professional rugby with Glasgow Caledonians (now Glasgow Rugby), he made three appearances for Scotland A, making his debut in the 99-0 win over the Netherlands at Murrayfield in December 1999. He had two seasons in Scotland’s under-21 team, making his debut against the Irish in 1997 while he was playing in France with Colomiers. He returned to Dundee High School FP later that year, and he enlisted with Glasgow Caledonians in season 1999-2000, though he had already made emergency appearances for the professional team in 1998-99. Jon toured Australia with Scotland in 2004, playing in all three tests plus captaining the side against New South Wales Country and New South Wales Waratahs. Being named as Glasgow's captain in season 2004/5 and picking up the team's player of the year award that season was further recognition of Jon's outstanding contribution to whatever team he plays for. A fantastic season was capped by Jon's Scotland captaincy for the tests against the Barbarians and Romania in Summer 2005. International Record
