Alasdair's honours include,
Two seasons on, Alasdair's potential was recognised and he was invited to join the Scottish Institute of Sport before making the step up to Scotland Under 21. He debuted against Ireland at his club ground, Mayfield in Feb 2003. Alasdair was selected as a replacement for pro team, Edinburgh in 2003 and was part of the Scotland U21 side that beat their English counterparts for the first time at the 2003 World Cup. Later that year he was part of the Scottish Districts U21 side that beat the New Zealand Youth tourists. Alasdair came back from a shoulder dislocation to be named as vice captain for the 2004 U21 World Cup. After his first season as a full-time professional with Edinburgh, Alasdair was selected to tour with Scotland's re-instated A team playing in all 3 games in the 2006 Churchill Cup in Canada where Scotland A finished runners up to the NZ Maoris. Inclusion in the Scotland World Cup training squad and a move to Gloucester in summer 2007 were precursors to Alasdair's call to join the full squad in France in September 2007 as a replacement for Allan Jacobson. His first full cap quickly followed in a game he described as "the toughest of my life" against the All Blacks in Scotlands Pool C match at Murrayfield on the 23rd of September 2007. In 2008 Dicko came off the bench as Scotland ended a 4 match losing streak to lift the Calcutta Cup in the Murrayfield rain. Scotland
