- Scotland Under 18
- Scotland Under 19
- Scotland Youth Sevens
Jon came to Dundee in 2004/2005 from the the reigning School's Cup holders, Dollar Academy as a Scotland U18 cap and quickly established himself in the 1st XV squad. Along with teammate Scott Burnett, Jon was selected for Scotland to travel to Australia for the Commonwealth Youth Games Sevens tournament in November 2004. The next month Jon was selected for his first cap for Scotland Under 19 where he was one of the players to catch the eye in what was a difficult tournament for the Scots.
In 2005 Jon scored a try coming off the bench for Dundee in the Scottish Cup final at Murrayfield
